AirSpace Minnesota made its public debut on the STEM Stage at the Minnesota State Fair in 2012 when Board Chair Dale Klapmeier (Co-Founder & CEO of Cirrus Aircraft) announced the 2.0 upgrade of the getSTEM web platform. This tool from the Minnesota Department of Education and the Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA) helps educators and business organizations through Minnesota get connected.
Dale was joined on stage by students from Concordia Academy, who launched a rocket in support of the announcement. AirSpace Minnesota promotes the getSTEM web portal as a means to encourage aviation and aerospace practitioners, who are today’s role models, to share their stories about the value of STEM skills and careers each fall in support of National Aerospace Week and World Space Week.
